The United Scottish Cultural Society will be hosting the BC Highland Games on Saturday, June 28/08 at the Coquitlam Town Centre (Percy Perry) Stadium and extends you an invitation to join us.
One of the most popular aspects of the Games is the variety of Clans and Societies with their flags, banners, and colourful displays. We welcome all those who have joined us in the past and helped make the BC Highland Games such a great occasion. If this is your first time participating in the BC Highland Games we look forward to welcoming you to our fun event.
The Stadium is currently in the midst of renovations and there have some major changes to the facility. The main field has been converted to artificial turf and tents can no longer be spiked or nailed into the ground. If you are supplying your own tent please bring bricks or a sandbag to hold them in place. Also, the power supply in the stadium is not yet functioning, we will be relying on generators, and our ability to provide power will be limited.
So that we can control our costs by ordering only the amount of equipment necessary we are requesting completion and return of the enclosed order form by Friday, June 1/08. All cheques are payable to the United Scottish Cultural Society. Please remember to include information on liability insurance.
As in the past, access to the Stadium is via the South East Entrance with set up available on Friday, June 27th between 4 pm and 9 pm and on Saturday, June 28th between 7 am and 9 am. We are requesting that as many Participants as possible set up their tents and equipment on Friday evening. A fence has been erected around the perimeter of the track and access, through two gates, is restricted. Please allow additional time for unloading and set up. Upon entering the Stadium please ask for Jim Bain and you will be directed to the correct location. Security will be on site during the night to protect your material.
If you any questions or concerns please contact us at the Scottish Cultural Centre, (604) 263-9911. We look forward to working with you at another successful Highland Games.
