BC Stock Dog Herding Demonstrations

The BC Highland Games is very pleased to welcome back the BC Stock Dog Association to the Games. After a two-year hiatus, and many requests, we are looking forward to another demonstration from a member of the association and his dogs, sheep and geese. The BCSDA promotes the ability of the working stock dog and educates the public to the use of these dogs on farms and ranches. The association also promotes the breeding, exposure and growth of stock dog breeds through field trials, demonstrations, clinics and advertising. The stock dogs in attendance at the BC Highland Games will provide demonstrations of their abilities on The Meadow in the center of the park Saturday afternoon, June 15, 2019.
Performance Bands – The Piping Connection
It's hard not to like the pipes. And while the BC Highland Games is at its core a competition, there's plenty of room for performance bands. And BC has some great bands, such as the RCMP E. Division Pipe Band, the 2019 duty band, the Delta Police Pipe Band and the J.P. Fell Pipe Band of North Vancouver.

Based in Greater Vancouver, British Columbia, the RCMP "E" Division Pipe Band under the leadership of Pipe Major Hugh Peden, was formed in April, 2006, and is one of seven RCMP pipe bands in Canada. The band is comprised of both active and retired RCMP members and civilian volunteers from throughout BC, who come together to share and showcase their musical talent, and to bring the community closer to its national police force. The band strives for a high musical performance, and is made up of a number of former competitive pipers and drummers from Grade III to Grade I. Band members have participated in the Edinburgh Tattoo, the Vernon Tattoo, and in 2016 completed an anniversary trip to Beijing, China to celebrate the band’s 20th year.
Delta Police Pipe Band
The Delta Police Pipe Band was formed in 1971 by members of the Delta Police Department in Delta, BC. Since the Band's inception, it has grown to its present strength of 33 pipers and 20 drummers. The band uniform is complemented by the Ancient Smith Tartan, worn in honour of the Band's co-founder, the late Chief Constable M.W.Smith. The band proudly represents the Delta Police Department and the Corporation of Delta, at home and around the world.
